BESPOKE BLOCK PAVING

Block paved driveways and patios are laid using blocks called pavers, made from natural stones including sandstone and granite they can also be manufactured from concrete or clay. Popular colours include red, burnt ochre, brindle, natural grey, charcoal, bracken and buff. Block paving patterns vary depending on your requirements and include:

HERRINGBONE

HERRINGBONE

Herringbone is the most common style of block paving pattern for driveways. It can be laid in a 45 degree pattern or a 90 degree pattern which is squared off the house.

STRETCHER BOND

STRETCHER BOND

Another common method of laying block paving is the stretcher bond pattern where the paving is offset so it lays half to half in order to lock in together.

BASKET WEAVE

BASKET WEAVE

Basket weave is generally used on smaller areas as a decorative pattern including paths and patio areas but it is not suitable for heavy traffic.

STAGGERED PAVING

Generally laid using tegula pavers in a variety of different sizes blocks from medium to large pavers to create interesting features.
